Housing

All Summer Scholars (participants) will be housed at Miner Canyon, which is newest campus residence of the Department Housing and Student Life, Division of Student Affairs, at The University of Texas at El Paso, which is within walking distance of campus. You are strongly encouraged to choose UTEP housing, so we can build community and engagement as Summer Scholars and with the Institute team. All housing options will be air conditioned and well-equipped with a mini-kitchen for a comfortable two-week stay. An informational video tour is available here.

Estimated Costs and Options
Lodging at the UTEP Miner Canyon, which is located at 3490 Sun Bowl Drive, El Paso, TX 79902, will cost about $40.00 a night. With our calculation, $40 per night X 14 nights = $560.00. All apartments are designed to house two individuals. Each apartment has two separate bedrooms, a shared bathroom, kitchen, and living area. Individual housing is available at a higher cost.The housing administrator will make every effort to pair roommates by gender.

Dining

Several on-campus eating options are available and include Pic ‘N’ Shovel. Food is affordable, depending on where you eat. In the vicinity of Miner Canyon and UTEP, expect to spend $8.00 to $24.00 for dinner.
